The ancient city of Suzhou has a history of more than 2,500 years. In February 2004, the Blue Mountains opened its second joint venture campus in China, in Suzhou. This is a joint venture with the Suzhou Tourism & Finance Institute to conduct a two-year diploma programmed in hospitality management and is approved by the Ministry of Education, Jiangsu Province and also by the Education Bureau of Suzhou municipal city. It provides the graduate with the opportunity to go overseas to further their studies to a bachelor’s degree level either at the Blue Mountains Hotel School in Australia or Australian International Hotel School.
Suzhou Tourism and Finance Institute offer several 5-consecutive-year diploma courses, which combines 3 years of secondary education and 2 years of higher education. It is a first class vocational education provider in Jiangsu Province, renowned for its modern
teaching facilities, advanced educational visions and strict management fostering professionals in tourism and hospitality, finance, commerce as its ultimate aim. It is one of the first tourism schools in China. Over hundreds of graduates have been sent to Japan, Singapore and other countries to further their studies or practice in the industry.
The joint venture program with Blue Mountains Hotel School is a "3 plus 2 program" leading to tertiary qualifications in hospitality management.

The Blue Mountains Hotel School, Leura, Australia is located within three hectares of gardens. This campus in Leura is in the heart of the Blue Mountains, a heritage listed wilderness park that is one of the most popular tourist regions in New South Wales.
Students can concentrate on their studies in a tranquil environment whilst having easy access to shops, restaurants, hotels and a wide range of outdoor activities. Sydney, Australia’s premier city is only two hours away by train or car.
Accreditation 
The Blue Mountains Hotel School – China joint ventures are approved
by local government authorities. Graduates from Blue Mountains Hotel
School – China Campuses will receive the full credit points transfer for
the approved programmed of studies to gain the Bachelor of Business
degree or further studies for Master’s degree at Blue Mountains Hotel
School, Australia or Australian International Hotel School.
Note: As of 2009, students who have completed their Diploma in CTMI / STFI and continue their education at the Blue Mountains Hotel School (BMHS)/ Australian International Hotel School (AIHS) will need to complete additional semesters due to change of management at the schools. BMHS / AIHS are now under the Laureate Education, Inc. and new rules have been implemented.

The campus at Suzhou offers fully equipped kitchens and dining room for international cuisine service and operation. The campus also has a practical application hotel for rooms division training.
